Then Kyra Sedgwick Entered the Picture
The solitary phase did not last. During an April 2025 appearance on Mythical Kitchen, Bacon explained that the farm dream came after the intensity surrounding his sudden fame and while another relationship was ending. “I just thought to myself, I’ll just be a guy with a dog and live alone. I don’t need anything. I don’t need anybody,” he recalled.
Although Bacon grew up as a city kid, he said he had developed a love of horses and a fantasy of being on horseback with a kind of cowboy mentality. “If I’d really had taken the story all the way, I would have been in Wyoming,” he joked. “But instead I was in Northwestern, Connecticut.”
“My mother had a horse when she was a child, and she would talk about it, so I think that ingrained itself in me. That and being a New Yorker, because she was a New Yorker,” he added, speaking to Esquire.
Then Sedgwick became part of that life. “My wife folded into that, and we lived in this little place, and I chopped the wood,” Bacon shared.
Sedgwick initially embraced the rural life Bacon had created before they met. Their farm would eventually become a place where music, animals, and family life regularly overlapped. | Source: Instagram/kevinbacon
