For Mitte, the role became a platform for something much larger.
Speaking on the *Joe Vulpis Podcast*, he reflected on what *Breaking Bad* ultimately gave him.
“That’s really the greatest thing that Breaking Bad has given me, is to be able to lend my voice to causes that make a meaningful impact that changes people’s lives.”
His commitment to those causes continued long after the series ended.
Mitte became a highly visible disability-rights advocate and repeatedly pushed for greater inclusion and authentic representation in the entertainment industry.
He served as an ambassador for United Cerebral Palsy and was involved with organizations including Shriners Children’s. He also played an important role in the Mitte Foundation, his family’s charitable organization.
His advocacy frequently centered on the idea that actors with disabilities should be given opportunities to portray complex characters rather than being overlooked or reduced to stereotypes.
