Shakira has spent decades performing under some of the brightest lights in the entertainment industry. From enormous stadium concerts to award-show stages and intimate promotional appearances, the Colombian superstar is accustomed to having thousands of eyes—and countless cameras—focused on her.
But one moment in Miami showed that even one of the world’s most experienced performers can suddenly decide that a boundary has been crossed.
A video that spread rapidly across social media showed Shakira dancing on an elevated platform at LIV nightclub in Miami Beach in September 2024. The singer was celebrating and previewing her song “Soltera,” while several other celebrities, including Anitta, Winnie Harlow, Lele Pons and Danna Paola, were also at the event.
At first, everything appeared normal.
Shakira was smiling, moving to the music and interacting with the crowd gathered around the platform. Phones were raised everywhere as people tried to capture the unexpected performance.
