Daniel opened his briefcase.
“Then we need to move quickly. Michael has already contacted another lender about transferring the disputed assets. If he realizes we have these records, he may try to destroy the remaining evidence.”
Arthur looked at the clock.
It was nearly two in the morning.
“Then we won’t wait until morning.”
He picked up his phone.
“Call the investigators. We have additional evidence to provide.”
The wedding had begun with promises of love.
It was ending with the truth.
And Arthur was determined that nobody would be allowed to bury it.
PART 4: THE PHONE CALL THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING
At six the following morning, Michael Dawson received a call from his daughter.
“Father, we have a problem.”
He immediately sat up in bed.
“What happened?”
“Arthur knows.”
The silence on the line lasted several seconds.
“Knows what?”
“Everything. The recording device, the financial arrangements, the emails. He knows about the plan.”
