Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex Condemn ‘Extraordinarily Reckless’ Intrusion After Two Men Are Spotted Near Their Children’s School

A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex told PEOPLE that the decision “was taken following a discussion with the family’s security team about the practicalities of their current arrangements.”

A friend of the couple also told Hello!, “It’s a real shame, because they absolutely adored the school, the kids and their parents. It was perfect for them in every way, and the children really enjoyed their time there.”

The friend added, “They really wanted to make it work, but they had to make a difficult decision based on the fact that the team couldn’t make the school run operationally secure.” A source close to the couple told PEOPLE that getting the children settled in “has been, and remains, their focus. Everything else will fall into place when the time is right.”

The latest incident also comes at a particularly significant moment for the Sussexes, as questions about the family’s security arrangements in Britain are once again receiving attention.

With Archie and Lilibet’s school arrangements already having been adjusted because of security concerns, the circumstances surrounding the family’s return to the U.K. are now coming into sharper focus — including a development involving Meghan’s own security arrangements.
The Timing Puts Security Back in Focus

The timing makes the episode particularly notable. As we previously reported, Meghan has now been granted her first government-backed security review since she and Harry stepped away from royal duties in 2020.
