One night, we were getting ready for Ryan’s company dinner. After twenty minutes trying to fix myself, I pulled an old black dress out of the closet.
I had always fit in perfectly.
That night, the zipper stopped on the middle of my back.
I put my belly in and tried again.
Nothing
Ryan was behind me adjusting the twins. I saw his reflection in the mirror.
“Attraction matters.”
“You know I love you,” he said, “but attraction matters.”
I turned slowly
What?
He shrugged his shoulders
“You have become a mother, not an old woman. If you keep neglecting you, I’ll finally have no choice but to leave. You should respect
to your husband enough to keep you beautiful for him.”
For a moment, I thought I misunderstood.
“I had a baby four months ago.”
“I know.”
“I spend half a night awake. I barely have time to eat.”
She Sighed
“Claire, many women have babies and get their figure back.”
I stared at it.
He was already irritated.
