Then Came a Very Different Kind of Home in Los Angeles

For someone who once built his identity around being a New Yorker, Bacon’s eventual embrace of Los Angeles came as something of a surprise — even to him. In a 2014 interview with the Standard, he admitted that he had spent years thinking of himself as a New Yorker who hated L.A. “But I’ve had a strange conversion,” he said.

The couple had purchased a home there, and Bacon admitted: “And now I really like it.” Their children were increasingly connected to Los Angeles, too. By the time of Bacon’s 2025 Esquire profile, both Travis and Sosie were living there.

The couple quietly closed on their Los Angeles property in the final week of 2011, according to Trulia. They reportedly paid $2.5 million for the two-bedroom, three-bathroom house in Los Feliz. At approximately 2,760 square feet, the architecturally inspired home offered a dramatic contrast to the Connecticut farm. And the photos make that contrast especially clear.
