Ripa, best known for her long-running role on Live with Kelly and Mark, will take over from current host Jimmy Fallon, who is stepping down after a successful 10-year run.
Fans and industry insiders have been buzzing about the unexpected move, as Ripa becomes the first woman to solo-host The Tonight Show in its 70-year history. NBC executives emphasized that her sharp wit, relatability, and ability to connect with audiences made her the perfect choice for the role. “Kelly is a trailblazer who brings energy, humor, and a fresh perspective to late-night TV,” said NBCUniversal Chairman Mark Lazarus. “We’re thrilled to welcome her to this iconic franchise.”
