Perhaps the person disappeared without explaining anything.
Maybe you had an argument, and neither of you ever spoke again.
Maybe they left you with questions.
Or perhaps you were the one who walked away without saying what you truly felt.
The human mind doesn’t always deal well with unfinished stories.
When something important is left open, we tend to return to it mentally, trying to organize it and make sense of what happened.
“What did they mean by that?”
“What would have happened if I had responded differently?”
“Why did they change?”
“Did they ever really love me?”
“Should I have tried harder?”
The problem is that many of these questions may never have a definite answer.
And that is exactly why they can keep repeating in your mind.
Imagine that a relationship ended with one simple sentence:
“I need some time.”
